Pakistan has thousands of visa agents and consultants, and their quality varies a great deal. A good consultant saves you time and helps you present a complete, consistent file. A bad one can cost you money, a refusal on your record, or worse. Here is what to look for.
What a consultant can and cannot do
Embassies and consulates make visa decisions on their own. No consultant has special access, and the EU's own advice to Schengen applicants warns that paying an intermediary does not raise your chances. What a consultant can do is organise your documents, spot gaps and contradictions, help with forms like the DS-160 and Schengen application, and explain each step. Judge consultants on that work, not on promises.
Signs of a trustworthy consultancy
- Fees in writing before work starts, with government and visa-centre fees shown separately from the service fee.
- No guarantee of approval. Honest consultants say clearly that only the embassy decides.
- A clear checklist for your specific country and visa type, not a generic list.
- Only genuine documents. They should refuse to create fake bank statements, letters or bookings.
- You stay in control of your accounts. You should be able to see your own application and appointment.
- Privacy. Your passport, CNIC and bank details are used only for your application.
- Straight answers about weak cases. A good consultant will sometimes tell you to wait and strengthen your profile first.
Red flags
- "100% visa" or "guaranteed visa" claims, or a promise of a visa for a fee paid only on approval through "contacts".
- Offers to arrange bank balance, fake employment letters or "dummy" sponsors.
- Asking you to hand over your original passport with no receipt or clear reason.
- Work visas or jobs abroad offered by someone who is not a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter. In Pakistan, overseas recruitment must go through promoters licensed by the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment.
- Pressure to pay everything immediately, in cash, with nothing in writing.
Questions to ask before you pay
- What exactly is included in your fee, and what is not?
- Which documents will you prepare, and which must I get myself?
- Who will submit the application, and will I get the login details?
- What happens if the visa is refused? Can you help with a new application?
Online or local office?
Most of a visa file is documents, forms and online portals, so it can be prepared well over email from any city. You still attend the biometrics or interview appointment in person wherever the embassy or visa centre requires. See our city pages, for example Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan, for where appointments usually take place.
How Meridian works
Meridian Visa Consultancy works online and prepares visa files for clients across Pakistan. Our fees are fixed in PKR and shown on our fees section: PKR 20,000 per person for a Europe / Schengen file consultation and PKR 50,000 per person for USA visa form filling. We do not guarantee visas and we do not prepare anything that is not genuine.
Roman Urdu mein khulasa
Achhi visa consultancy fees likh kar batati hai, visa ki guarantee nahin deti, aur kabhi naqli bank statement ya job letter nahin banati. "100% visa" ya "pakka visa" kehne walon se door rahein.
Information checked 1 November 2026. Rules change, so always confirm on the official embassy or visa-centre website before you apply.
